LEIF SEARCY​

English Bio

Leif began playing drums at an early age as his father was timpanist of the “ La Scala Opera and Philarmonic Orchestra” and internationally renowned teacher.

He completed his studies under the guidance of Tullio DePiscopo, Jeffrey Boudreaux, Ettore Fioravanti amongst others achieving the Professional Diploma at the “American Institute of Music, Vienna and the “Siena Jazz” professional course.

During this period he started his musical formation, performing with Jazz, Fusion, Rock and Funk Bands in clubs around Germany. Austria and Italy.

 

Today Leif is a well known drummer in the italian music scene.

He has been touring and recording with various artists such as Malika Ayane, Carmen Consoli, Emma Marrone, Francesco Renga just to name a few.

He is also performing in various prestigious clubs such as La Salumeria della Musica and Blue Note Milan with local bands and projects.

 

Leif is also a drum educator and teaches regularly at Cluster Music School, Milan

Italian Bio

Leif incomincia a suonare la batteria da giovanissimo, a casa la musica non manca visto che è figlio d' arte ,suo padre prof. d'orch. David Searcy era primo timpanista e percussionista del “Teatro alla Scala” e la madre Heidrun Baumann primo violino della stessa orchestra.

Leif inizia i suoi studi sotto la guida di Tullio De Piscopo, per terminare con Jeffrey Boudreaux ed Ettore Fioravanti, ottenendo il Diploma Professionale dall’ “American Institute of Music Vienna” nel '92 e il diploma di Alta Qualifica Professionale di“Siena Jazz”nel '94.

 

Oggi Leif è un batterista noto nella scena musicale italiana.

Lavora dal vivo e in studio di registrazione con artisti del calibro di Malika Ayane, Carmen Consoli, Emma Marrone, Francesco Renga per citarne alcuni.

Suona anche regolarmente in club prestigiosi quali La Salumeria della Musica e Blue Note Club Milano con band locali e progetti musicali vari.

 

Leif insegna regolarmente alla Scuola di Musica Cluster
